Gujarat State Network of People Living with HIV / AIDS (GSNP+)

Gujarat State Network of People Living with HIV/AIDS (GSNP+), a community-based organization, is working for People living with HIV/AIDS in Gujarat since 2003. The organization works for PLHAs improved quality of life, irrespective of sex, gender, caste, religion and socio-economic status. 7 PLHAs have formed the network under Trust and Society Act. GSNP+ has developed layer by layer through the extensive support of its partners, donors and other government institutions. It comprises of board members and non-members who are helping in strengthening the organization, through their technical support, expertly handling the programmes in institutional manner.

State Women’s Forum (SWF), a separate wing of Gujarat State Network of People Living with HIV/AIDS (GSNP+) came into existence on 1st November, 2004. SWF works for centralizing the Women Living with HIV/AIDS (WLWHIV) and Children Living with HIV/AIDS (CLHIV) in decision-making process that affects their lives. The forum is organized and managed by the board of women representatives. They advocate for the issues of women and child living with HIV/AIDS through various activities. SWF is constituted through an amendment to the existing by laws of GSNP+. The Executive Body of SWF comprises seven members elected from among the members across the 24 Districts. The mandate of this body is to take all executive decisions in the SWF. SWF have formed District Women Forum (DWF) in Ahmedabad, Mehsana, Rajkot and Banaskantha.
